“Comparison is the thief of joy.” That’s one of my favorite quotes, said by Theodore Roosevelt. When we compare, we can lose sight of our own strength and power. When we see what everyone else is doing and accomplishing, we can easily forget all the amazing things we have done.
Remembering her own power is something Babe P is working on. She used her boudoir session as a way to see her strengths, which is a phenomenal reason. How often do we stop and look at our bodies to appreciate how strong they are? Boudoir helped Babe P do that.
Finding strength in ourselves is a journey. It takes time. It can be a difficult one and requires a lot of self-realization, but, babe, it’s so worth it. Find the ways you’re strong. Remember all you’ve accomplished with your body and that the things others accomplish in no way diminish your amazingness. Be kind to yourself. Be gentle with yourself. Take a tip from Babe P and appreciate where your body is at this point in your life.
What did you love about your session? The process on the whole was very well organized. I was in great hands from the start with prep on getting makeup and hair done. Alicia even helped with outfit selections before getting started and gave great direction. I loved the photo reveal session and viewing my slideshow so much that I literally squealed “yes” seeing an image that was all I could ever hope for.
Would you ever do another boudoir shoot? Without a doubt!
Do you feel like you have a better relationship with your body? What will you do in the future to show yourself some self-love? I definitely appreciate my body for where I’m at in my life. Alicia helped me to see how strong and powerful my body is despite it’s flaws. One of the things that I want to overcome is comparing myself to others. Instead, I want to focus on my strengths and build my own path.
Any words of advice to someone who is nervous about boudoir? Try your best to relax and just have a fun time. Know that you’ll be prepped, pampered, and coached along through the whole process and that the results will be well worth it.

I’ve been following Buxom Boudoir on their Facebook page and Instagram for quite some time and have always admired the work that resulted in her photo sessions and love her style. I’d like to quickly point out that these arched, black lace body suit shots are the photos where Babe P actually yelled out in joy. It was one of the best reveal session reactions ever. To be so in love with how you look that you have to squeal… that’s my vibe!
