Recently, I had the honor of photographing a phenomenal group of babes. It was a day of laughter, self-love and growth. During the shoot, I asked each one to tell me about their relationships with their bodies, and each woman had a different story to tell. They were allowed to share as much or as little as they wanted. I’d like to take the opportunity to share their stories as a way to recognize the strength of each of them individually and hopefully other women those with similar feelings about their bodies.
This is Selina’s Story:
“I’ve always had a bad relationship with my body. Fluctuating weight as long as I can remember. This is my first step at overcoming my [poor] body image. [To feel radiant] I try a new color and/or a full face of makeup.”
She may not have had much to say, but I think Selina is a wonderful role model. She didn’t let her fear or self-image stop her from doing this, and I’m really proud of her for that. Boudoir can be intimidating, but she did it! She recognized that it’s time to overcome her negative self-image, and I think that’s kickass.
