I’m excited to introduce you to the other side of the Buxom Boudoir glam squad – Mandy! She’s responsible for almost all the amazing makeup at my photography studio. I wanted her to experience what a boudoir session is like first hand, so she would know exactly what all my babes go through. She really stepped outside her comfort zone and embraced her body, and I’m proud of her! Check out her session and her brief interview to get to know her a little better!
What got you interested in makeup artistry? I got interested in makeup artistry almost 9 years ago when I got my makeup done professionally for the first time. I thought it was a cool way to not just make money but also help women feel beautiful! Originally I went to school for funeral service but switched my major to cosmetology. The rest is history, and I’m so glad I followed my dreams!
How long have you been a makeup artist? I have been a makeup artist for about 8 years now.
Why do you enjoy working with women before their photo shoots? I like helping women feel comfortable and beautiful in their own skin. I love seeing their reactions when they look in the mirror. It makes me feel awesome helping them feel confident before their shoot. I also enjoy getting to know the clients and helping to ease any nervousness.
How did you feel during your boudoir shoot? I was very nervous at first because of how self-conscious I am about my body. Alicia helped ease my nerves with her compliments and funny jokes.
Do you do anything to build your self-confidence or self-love? I don’t really do anything to build my self confidence or self love. Being a mom takes a lot out of you and I know I need to take better care of myself.
What advice would you give to a woman who is trying to love herself more? My advice would be to not be so hard on yourself. We are our worst critics!
